Description
Developed in house using cad, the trailparts lever coupling puts a modern look and functional improvements on a concept that has largely remained unchanged for 30 years.
It’s not just a better-looking coupling though ? one of the key design criteria was to improve the safety of the couplings in the event that the user forgot to engage the locking pin. The result of this is an increase in the upwards force required to force the coupling off the towball to over 700kg ?this up from as low as 80kg on existing models available.
This is done through changes to the ball socket and geometry of the lever. Because these changes are the key to tow ball retention, it now means the lever spring doesn’t have to be so heavy and gives an easy to use feel, and is less likely to spring shut and jam fingers.
The coupling is often the only touch-point the user experiences when using trailers, and trailparts lever couplings not only improve the overall look but also enhance the safety of the trailer.
