On 1st June 2019, the Amendment of Land Transport Rule Light-Vehicle Brakes 2019 Rule 32014/2002/5 came into force. This now allows for Class TB trailers with a laden weight of 2500kg-3500kg GVM to have indirect braking without having to apply for an exemption. Our AL-KO 3500kg European Braking System complies with ECE Regulation No:13 and is a perfect solution for Class TB trailers, it allows NZ trailer builders to build Class TB trailers with this European mechanical brake system with no need for the exemption. The kit consists of mechanical override coupling, drum brakes, including emergency breakaway brakes and a park brake facility.
